DASL Accounts

Starting August 2004, users of the SBSRI Data and Software Lab (DASL) will need an account to logon to the DASL computers. To set up your new account, please see Young-Gie so that he can assign you a password.

  • Before Young-Gie can set up your account, you will need to provide to him a) your university affiliation, b) a valid University of Arizona e-mail address, and c) your phone number. You must also sign the University of Arizona Computer Network Access Agreement.
  • Each user will be allotted 300 MB of disk space. Contact Young-Gie if you need more space.
  • Printing will be charged at $.05/page. SBSRI will start each account with a $10 credit (good for printing 200 pages). When your balance falls below $3, you will get a warning message. At that time you should see Kelly Huff in Room 115B to add funds to your account.
  • For every dollar you deposit in your account, SBSRI will offer 10% free pages to cover any printing problems such as jams, toner problems, or other unforeseen errors. For example, if you deposit $10, $11 will be credited to your account.
  • The minimum amount for adding funds is $10, payable in cash only (we cannot accept checks or credit card yet).
  • You should get permission from Young-Gie to print multiple copies of anything.
  • An account that has been idle for 18 months will be deleted. If your account balance exceeds $10 when you close it out, you can request a refund from Kelly Huff for the amount above $10.
