Tech eNews
  • File Server
    • SBSTech now has a Mac file server. Access and usage to this file server is available to all Mac users within our supported departments. This server allows any user with a unique username and password to have exclusive access to his/her folder. No other user can access your secure folder. (This folder is not accessible by Windows users.)
    • To get setup with this benefit, please submit a work request so that we can make a folder for you and provide you with your username and password. We will also setup a shortcut to the folder on your desktop and if you prefer, set your programs to save directly to that secure folder.
  • Maintenance
    • SBSTech now has a program called Tech Tools. It is a Macintosh based diagnostics tool. If you have a sick Mac or want to check and see if things are in order and running right, please submit a work request.
    • There is also a program on each Mac called 'Software Update.' Each model of Mac has it’s own specialized updates that may be needed. If you’d like us to update your Mac, specialized or otherwise, please submit a work request.

OS X
    • OS X is the new operating system that Apple has developed. It is relatively easy to use but is very different from OS 9. There are a lot of current programs used by many of the SBS Macintosh users that are not yet compatible with OS X. If you’d like to use OS X we can install it for you or setup your computer to boot in OS X if it’s already installed. If you’d like to take a look at OS X we have it installed on a laptop that can be brought by for you to preview.
