Faculty Advisory Council
This council is charged with advising the Dean on general issues affecting faculty, or within the province of the faculty, that are not assigned to other SBS committees. The Chair of the Faculty Advisory Council (FAC) serves as a member of the Heads' and Directors' Council. The Dean requests advice from the FAC on such matters as procedures, policies, and criteria governing faculty salary adjustments, personnel matters, allocations of capital funds, space needs, college-wide instructional issues, budgetary decisions, and nominations for faculty membership on ad hoc college committees. The FAC shall bring matters of interest arising among the faculty to the attention of the Dean. On issues affecting the entire membership of SBS, members of the FAC shall meet and deliberate jointly with members of Intercom (the staff elective council), and members of the Student Advisory Council. The FAC shall consist of six members of the general faculty elected for two year staggered terms. No SBS unit may have more than one concurrent member on the FAC. Members serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.
