1. Non-phonologically-conditioned metathesis

2. Exs. 96 and 97 (pp. 163-164) show differences between the two orders, with differing phonological

output (l vs ɬ-d).  This is difficult for template morphology because it simply puts each morpheme in a particular slot, perhaps related to the existence of other items, but not on any order of construction -- basically you build the whole word up first and then fit the results into the template.

3. Ex. 102 p. 166 gives 4 examples of semantically parallel descriptive-stative verbs, but with 4 different voice/valence markers-- even if you try to distinguish some as temporary/permanent (etc.) you still have difficulties partitioning all 4.  Similarly ex. 103 -- ɬ-taets and d-l-ts'ii are both plural locative-stative verbs.
