Aaron, Diane, Sophia and Dylan visit Arizona
Day 4, March 14, 2001
Day 4: we went to the Children's Museum (no pix) and then on a picnic, in Saguaro National Park West.
First, we picked out this table with the rock wall behind it.
Then, we all went hiking down a path to see petroglyphs
Aaron and Sophia were co-leaders; the rest of us came along after.
On the way, we saw some flowers: Phacelia (purple) and Globe Mallow (orange).
After walking a ways (a long ways, for little legs) we saw the petroglyphs. Look closely at the rocks to see them.
Diane pointed out some petroglyphs to Sophia
Sophia piled sand and dirt into a pretend bird's nest.
After a little while, we walked back to the picnic area.
And we sat down and had our picnic. We had Cornish hens, cornbread, fruit, cheese, chips, and salsa verde. Mmmmmm good.
Here's Aaron and Sophia munching away .
And Diane and Dylan (notice Dylan trying to get a whole apple in his mouth -- he also tried this with
grapefruit.)
Art liked the food too.
Dylan especially liked the cornbread.
After dinner, Aaron sat on the wall to watch the sunset.
And everybody wanted to get up there and join him.
