Aaron, Diane, Sophia and Dylan visit Arizona

Day 5 & 6, March 15-16, 2001

Day 5: Sophia had so much fun on the picnic on Wednesday that we did the whole process again on Thursday, driving up the Mt. Lemmon road to a pine forest.

On the way up, we stopped at a vista view overlook to see the desert and look down at Tucson.

We walked down a little path to see some flowers and plants. Sophia was very careful not to touch any prickly plants.

Saguaros are big.

When we got to the pine forest, we stopped and picked out a picnic table. It was cooler up there -- everybody's got a jacket on.

There was a stream close by that Sophia enjoyed throwing rocks in.

We all walked down by it and across it stepping rock-to-rock.

Funny Spohia.

Back at the picnic area, Dylan was giving away chips. We thought he looked like Rocky Squirrel.

Our picnic was the same as the previous day, since we were eating some leftovers, but the menu also included some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

After lunch, we noticed the bark on an Alligator Juniper, and then went home.

On Friday morning, during packing, Art and Sophia went to the park again to visit the swings:

which was fun.

Then they all flew home. We miss them.
